In the movie, The Matrix, Neo, the central character, is abruptly awakened one night to find that someone has hacked into his computer and is typing a message to him: "Wake up, Neo." Soon thereafter, he finds that the world he knew is an illusion, a virtual world created by a great machine. Neo has been chosen to help a small army fight a desperate battle against the machine in defense of the last human outpost, the underground city of Zion.
