He served in War of 1812. 1820 Overton County, Tennessee Census, p. 260, in 1829 he went to Illinois and is listed in the 1840 DeWitt County, Illinois, Census, a DeWitt County, Illinois, probate record, the 1850 DeWitt County, Illinois, Census. He was a farmer and a shoemaker. (Peggy Salz, Enumclaw, Washington). I do know that Elijah Davis, Tyre Harp, Isaac Taylor, and Isham Johnson all were enrolled in Stephen Copeland's militia to fight the Creek Indians in either 1808 or 1811. Tyre Harp (Terry) lived on land bordering William Harp, possibly Solomon Harp, and I think a William Harp Jr. in about 1816 because Isham Johnson bought land that also bordered theirs, was, in fact, I think surrounded by theirs on three sides. However, in the 1830 census, some of them were not there and Elijah Davis was surrounded by Simon Harp, Norman Harp, William Harp (aged 50-60 so it probably was not the William who married Sally Stanton), Sampson Harp, aged 30-40, Susannah Bohannon, probably the widow of a Bohannon and really a Harp by birth, Eli Harrison, William Bohannon,and Ickabod Harp. Tyre Harp moved to Arkansas, then on to Illinois where he died early in the 1840s. (Sherry Henke) I show Tyre in Overton County, Tennessee about 1820. There are land records in DeWitt County, Illinois 1835 - 1839 and McLean County, Illinois 1835. I show he died in 1840.
